| I work for a jewelry & gemstone magazine, and there are always interesting photos of different kinds of precious stones, gems, metals, fossils, unusual materials. I was helping this fossil company do an ad for their products, one of them was this fossil material called ammonite - a prehistoric organism that used to live in a spiral shell. Of course the living part of them are all gone, but the ammonite shells have fossilized over time. Ammonites are spiral, swirling, iridescent/pearlescent shells, and things made from ammonite material are pretty nifty-looking. I kept thinking about them after I saw some photos, like how pretty they are, and how they reflect colors in a nice way. Thus the title. |
